(2.) The fundamental Law in that system, the central point from
which all
emerged, around and toward which all gravitates, and upon which
is hung the
philosophy of the rest, is the One homogeneous divine SUBSTANCE
PRINCIPLE,
the one radical cause.

. . . "Some few, whose lamps shone brighter, have been led
>From cause to cause to nature's secret head,
And found that one first Principle must be. . . . "

It is called "Substance-Principle," for it becomes "substance" on
the plane
of the manifested Universe, an illusion, while it remains a
"principle" in
the beginningless and endless abstract, visible and invisible
SPACE. It is
the omnipresent Reality: impersonal, because it contains all and
everything. Its impersonality is the fundamental conception of
the System.
It is latent in every atom in the Universe, and is the Universe
itself.

DTB	LAW -- SUBSTANCE-PRINCIPLE	Sounds like the Universal MONAD
to me with its three great aspects [ B. Gita: Sattva (SPIRIT /
TRUTH), Rajas (MIND / DESIRE or activity and choice --
free-will ); and, Tamas (INERTIA / QUIESCENCE) ]
ALL MOVEMENT IN THE UNIVERSE IS DIRECTED BY DESIRE IN ACTION.
And this is REGULATED by MIND, KNOWLEDGE, and EXPERIENCE (or
WISDOM).
Experience of the past, impressed on the MONADS of lesser
experience which form the retinue (PERSONALITY) of any MONAD that
is advanced into the MIND level of free-choice is what is called
personal KARMA usually.
Akasa records even the changes and choices made in all the planes
of inter-connected "ILLUSIONS". Each MONAD is in effect its own
REGISTER -- in the highest aspect of MATTER which constitutes
the MONAD -- the AKAS. There is then a personal, an INDIVIDUAL
and a UNIVERSAL AKAS. All monads have access to those records as
needed. Once this is realized any urge to break the Law is
raised before the "chooser" before he commits himself to an act.
In this way he becomes his own MONITOR and uses this perception
to improve his continuous practice of virtue. At least, that is
how I see it.

* What does this tell us about the essence of our own being? Are
we a
"Substance-Principle" at heart? If so what does this mean?

DTB	SUBSTANCE-PRINCIPLE is a manifestation, and hence limited.
As MONAD it may be the highest central point that gives us our
INDIVIDUALITY and is the SOURCE of the ONE CONSCIOUSNESS in us
which undergoes the pilgrimage of self-purification and
self-development.
