For a long long time, not much attention was paid to the happenings at the
GC level. What we have been seeing all these months started with the
election tactics culminating with attempted power grab by a few, by
disenfranchising the dues paying members. All this has led to many members
to have a very low opinion of the credibility of the "leaders". Also based
on the events in the past, we do not know what else is going on behind the
scenes, because sometimes they may be more important that what is in the
open.
It is a pitiful state of affairs and I do not think we have seen anything
like this in the history of TS. What the members need to know is what are
the key issues that the TS faces today and how each section is planning to
address them. They have to be addressed by each section since all action
contributing to the growth of the TS are actions at the lodge and section
level. I have not seen much of any plans and actions to bring in and retain
members in sections. Any amount of tinkering with the rules and regulations,
while may be interesting and exciting to discuss, is not going to bring new
members or retain existing members from leaving TS.
Let us wait and see.
