Alexandria West was named in reference to the ancient learning center
and location of the Great Library in the ancient city of Alexandria in
Egypt. The aim of the organization is to make available ancient and
modern wisdom literature from all cultures and traditions for the
benefit of today's seekers of the perennial wisdom traditions. More
specifically, Alexandria West seeks to foster:

1. An awareness of the world's perennial wisdom traditions.
2. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
3. Respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every human being, and
the commitment to live by the principles of compassion, justice, and
wisdom in human relations.

To achieve these purposes, Alexandria West is committed to the
development of resources such as:

1. A library and special collections of original documents of historical
significance.
2. Teaching and Study Materials.
3. Study groups, workshops, seminars and field trips.
4. Publication of a quarterly journal and books dedicated to exploring
perennial wisdom traditions and their relevance to our lives today.

LIBRARY AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS: The library currently has available to
it about 15,000 items. The special collections has about 50,000 unique

Enoch; Canaanite, Babylonian and Hebrew Mythology; Jewish Mysticism and
Kabbalah; Zoroastrianism. Currently there is a class on the Backgrounds
of Christianity. There are also currently ongoing classes and seminars
on the Mahatma Letters; The Secret Doctrine; Meditation techniques.

THE JOURNAL: AW publishes a quarterly journal. Each issue is about 40
pages and in color. Its features and departments include:
1. Human and spiritual quests then and now
2. Wisdom story from all lands and cultures.
3. Reviews of current books and news items germane to the perennial
wisdom today.
4. Analysis of moral and ethical perspectives among different cultures.
5. Current science and Ancient Wisdom applied to daily life.
6. Poetry oriented towards the spiritual quest.
7. Current activities of Alexandria West's study groups and seminars.

PUBLICATIONS:
Study guides and other materials are in preparations and will be
