Dear Friend:

I am puzzled about "revisionism" in Theosophical literature.  

Who has the knowledge and power to do that?

Sounds to me like more presumption at work, and again, a playing on the
ignorance of those who will not study and research for themselves. They get
unreliable "authorities" to write and confuse them. 

[This happened within 2 years of Mme. Blavatsky's death, and the effect on
the THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY can be traced to this day by means of frequently
published documentation. There is no excuse for neglecting the ORIGINAL
WRITINGS if one wishes to discover and demonstrate to themselves the value
of those basics.] 

I often say this: Why trust me? Better to take a question, and using the
basic and original Theosophical texts (and the INDEXES) find out for
yourself. 

The final settling of inquiries will always be done by you -- and there are
hardly any trustworthy "short-cuts." How do you think "religions" and
":sects" start?  

Even our "Science" has become "dogmatic." Instead of researching and
measuring the new and sometimes unusual phenomena observed, and reporting it
honestly and fully, there are those who have arrogated to themselves the
right to dictate on the value of Scientific research and are always ready to
criticize (not necessarily after verification) reports of anomalies.
Sometimes evidence is suppressed or hidden in the dusty back shelves of
museums and collections.

The problem is that in seeking to discover the past for which there is
scanty evidence, some prominent scientists have evolved theories and
hypotheses -- speculatively. The whole Evolutionary Theory is one of these.
Yet it is taught in schools as a fact.

One ought to carefully read in the SECRET DOCTRINE what is said about 
SCIENCE AND THE S D CONTRASTED -- in Vol. 2, beginning on p. 477. A
glance at the CONTENTS of the book will show you the range of subjects
discussed. 

Now, if our Science were honest and humble, the S D would indeed be the
most-valued "Text-Book" of the 20th and 21st centuries. There is still
time. But it takes iconoclasts to shake and eventually tumble false notions
now commonly used as a bass for further flimsy and insecure conclusions. 

Fortunately there are a few who treat it like such a source-book.  

It is self-explanatory, and needs only the time that a devoted inquirer
might put into reading and grasping its main tenets, and then proving them
for himself. 

Now who will devote that time -- say a half hour a day -- to careful
reading and study? Why not start with The OCEAN OF THEOSOPHY? by Judge --
in 180 pages he will secure a trustworthy synopsis of what the SECRET
DOCTRINE covers, and from there he can proceed. 

Consult others by all means, but take anything said as an OPINION.
(Especially what I write.) 

>From a quick reading on Keeley's Motor" one finds that Keeley had a peculiar
psychic nature and perceived (perhaps as Tesla, and others also did) forces
and powers that, like electricity and magnetism, are non-physical yet have
the power to move mechanisms physically.

I draw your attention that although we commonly use electricity and
magnetism, our science does not really know what they are.  

They are described in terms of physical hydraulics usually -- those being
the objective and practical analogs or aspects of flow and pressure
associated with the transmission and use of E & M. 

There is quite a literature in Keeley and GOOGLE provides a series of
sources when consulted.

It is also true that no one else but K. could make his mechanisms work.

As to Tesla, for instance. He could make "broadcast power" work -- and
after his death, his equipment and writings were seized by the Government --
quite a history and mystery. Again GOOGLE provides leads.

I believe that Mr. Keely's "motor" was proven long ago to have been a fake,
but it was never edited out of the SD. Am I wrong in this?

Certainly "laya centres" exist in modern physics, but Mr. 
Keely did not tap into one of those as far as I know. His "motor" 
was a concoction of threads and such according to the ones who 
checked it out in his day.  

Is this a case of "cold fusion" in the sacrosanct (even to me) "Secret
Doctrine" of HPB?
