There may be a Yahweh in mythology. Maybe we'll live to see him
starring in his own action series, like Hercules. However, "Hashem"
is not a name, but a pseudonym for YHVH, that the Jews use in their
prayer books. "Ha-Shem" means simply, "The Name." I have no problem
with that. Remember the "Baal Hashem" of Chaddidism? It
meant "Master (Baal) of the Good Name." "Shem" is Aramaic/Hebrew
for "Name."
Baal Shem Tov (adjective goes after the noun; "tov" means "good").
The names "Jehovah" and "Yahweh" were originated by non-Jews in
post-Christian times.
This clouds Blavatsky's description in THE SECRET DOCTRINE, which, if
one forgets the problem with names, makes the logical conjecture that a
deva that attached itself to the Jewish people tried to communicate the
truth, but the Jews confused the deva with the Unity it was describing.
