RE: Yahweh

Yes, Bart, you are right. I just could not remember the Baal Shem
Tov's full appellation at the time, so I "winged" it.

Anyway, I have a very old "Spiritualist" book, by Moses Hull, "An
Encyclopedia of Biblical Spiritualism," that claims that Yahweh was
a "deceased Egyptian spirit-guide." HPB came along before that, but
she would have had a heyday with that supposition. Actually, HPB was
somewhat divided in her ideas over whether YHVH was solely a
Kabbalistic term or had some other meaning, as inferred above,
relating to the ancient Jews/Phoenicians. There are definite
similarities between the Phoenician "Bull-God" EL, and Yahweh, and
the "Bull-God" of Egypt, Amun-Ra-Min, who is shown ithyphallic and
supposedly created everything by masturbation.
[[Oh, gods, NOT that subject again!!!]]
