Re: "praying for rain and normal temps"

Hi all,
I wasn't actually focussing all that much energy into the rain
coming - and well, it hasn't significantly rained yet, though the
temperature has gone down, thank goodness. I was simply speaking
figuratively and perhaps not using my English properly.
Still, the discussion that ensued is interesting:
- when does wishing turn into praying?
- who or what does one pray to (it was assumed here that I prayed to
some god, but since I don't believe in 'God', that is simply nowhere
near the truth)? Is trying to contact a certain force in nature the
same thing as trying to contact 'God'? Is one more effective,
reasonable than the other?
- when does the concentration of thought on a particular subject
become magic (black or white)?
I don't really have the answer.
Still, there are many ways of trying to turn our environment into a
healthier place, creating rain may just be one of them (the drought
here is causing environmental problems). How does one know the
distinction between: 'this is what I have to do' and 'doing this
would be interfering with fate or karma or whatever'?
Not simple questions, but perhaps you all have some ideas?
Katinka
