Mahatmas and Kings...and glamour...

Hi all of you,

Maybe the following could be of some help.
Read it carefully.

This is a PROTEST against those who think, that the present situation of turmoil is created by the Middle East alone (or the Middle East together withtheir associates). The western or rich countries has just as much the responsibility for the present situation - and for NOT solving it.

A view among the many:

We live in a rapid changing world. Today we have turmoil in Israel, in India at Kashmir, Zimbawee, and other places.

Turmoil is not a new thing or event on this planet. It is almost something, which we are getting used to. But with the present situation with the so-called risks of use of weapons of mass destruction A-weapons, biological weapons, and other kinds of mass destruction weapons - we face certain problems. That is problems, which will determine the future on this planet and itsliving entities whether they be human or not.

Terrorism is a problem in an information society like the present global one. But the definition of the word terrorism differs in various countries.

1.
The western view is often, that terrorism is - violent aggression by the use of certain weapons (more or less dangerous), which almost immediately kills the human targets. It is often a minor group of so-called political/religious people, who are attacking a certain country, or a government, or another society-important target. This could be termed as violent terrorism.
(Others call it a defence against other kinds of terrorism made by the victim).

2.

The poor countries often state the view, that terrorism also is defined to the issue, when the rich (western or western LIFESTYLE) countries continually economically and politically oppress the poor countries. It is also called food-terrorism.

3.

The Middle Eastern countries (and others) has the view, the especially richcountries (mostly western countries USA, EU etc.) act as what is called Cultural Imperialists, which by trade and dollars etc. oppress other countries cultures and EVEN religions. The rich or western countries sort of flood for instance Middle Eastern countries with products, which promote a lifestyle, which aggressively and effectively undermines most Middle Eastern religions and lifestyles. This promotion happens by legal or illegal trade or by paid political (internal country) pressure. And because of this oppression, the rich or western countries seed the development of terror-nets and groups, which wants to defend them selves against, what they with religious terms sometimes call the DEVIL.
This is called cultural/religious terrorism. That is Terrorism, which oppresses religions and lifestyles.
(Some rich or western countries are (deliberately?) ignorant abot this fact.)

The situation is, that these above three definitions are not quite new to UN-countries. These views or similar ones have been expressed at international UN-meetings, at least as early as 1996.

The situation is, that the dollar - $ - is the economically leading currency. And because of that, and because of greed, we have the present situationin the Middle East and elsewhere.

Political Leaders of the Middle East and African countries and elsewhere are too happy about the $, and that is why - there presently are so little action going on in UN. If people would seek peace more eagerly, then they would seek to have continuous meetings at UN - seeking to find solutions on the gravest problems the Planet faces today. And TV's and news agencies wouldbe adresed in the matter. (Again just a view.)

Instead of that we have a so-called Security Council, which in its present clearly biased form, (without any permanent members from Middle Eastern countries), never will be able to create anything but trouble on matters concerning the Middle East.

And in spite of this the MAIN purpose of the United Nations is to create peace. What a mistake to continue with such a vehicle by the name of the 'Security Council'. A council, which certainly is anything but secure! (Well let us call it a view.)

Theosophy could have the same view as Martin Luther King Jr. in the following:

Some of the good quotes:

"As you press on for justice, be sure to move with dignity and discipline, using only the weapon of love. Let no man pull you so low as to hate him. Always avoid violence. If you succumb to the temptation of using violence inyour struggle, unborn generations will be the recipients of a long and desolate night of bitterness, and your chief legacy to the future will be an endless reign of meaningless chaos."

Excerpted from "The Most Durable Power", a sermon delivered on 6 November 1956 in Montgomery, Ala. (Reprinted in Christian Century 74 [5 June 1957]: 10-11.)

"I think the first reason that we should love our enemies, and I think thisis at the very center of Jesus' thinking, is this: that hate for hate onlyintensifies the existence of hate and evil in the universe. If I hit you and you hit me and I hit you back and you hit me back and go on, you see, that goes on ad infinitum. It just never ends. Somewhere somebody must have alittle sense, and that's the strong person. The strong person is the person who can cut off the chain of hate, the chain of evil. And that is the tragedy of hate that it doesn't cut it off. It only intensifies the existence of hate and evil in the universe. Somebody must have religion enough and morality enough to cut it off, and inject within the very structure of the universe that strong and powerful element of love."

Excerpted from "Loving Your Enemies", a sermon delivered on 17 November 1957 at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Ala. (full text)

"A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war: 'This way of settling differences is not just.' This business of burning human beings with napalm, of filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into the veins of peoples normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice, and love. A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defence than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.

"America, the richest and most powerful nation in the world, can well lead the way in this revolution of values. There is nothing except a tragic death wish to prevent us from reordering our priorities so that the pursuit of peace will take precedence over the pursuit of war. There is nothing to keep us from moulding a recalcitrant status quo with bruised hands until we have fashioned it into a brotherhood."

Excerpted from "Beyond Vietnam", an address delivered on 4 April 1967 to the Clergy and Laymen Concerned About Vietnam at Riverside Church in New YorkCity. (full text)

"Now let me suggest first that if we are to have peace on earth, our loyalties must become ecumenical rather that sectional. Our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective. No individual can live alone; no nation can live alone, and as long as we try, the more we are going to have war in this world. Now the judgement of God is upon us, and we must either learn to live together as brothers or we are all going to perish together as fools."

Excerpted from "A Christmas Sermon on Peace", delivered on 24 December 1967at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga.

The Jews can't live alone. The Palaestinians can't live alone. The USA can't live alone. The Germans can't live alone. The Afghans can't live alone. The India can't live alone. The Persia can't live alone. And each and every country has to respect the other not just by words, but in reality by theirrespectíve actions. And in the present information society, this is getting pretty clear.
Especially the USA, Germans and the Afghans will have to live with respect for each other.
***The same respect has to be created for the persons at Theos-talk.
This is what I offer to you. Think it through if you want to. The words of Martin Luther King Jr., should be taken seriously - and not only be viewed form a Christian perspective, but also be viewed, as if King was a Theosophist making an important point.

So this is a PROTEST against those who think, that the present situation ofturmoil is created by the Middle East alone (or the Middle East together with their associates). The western or rich countries has just as much the responsibility for the present situation - and for NOT solving it.
I will admit, that cultural/religious Terrorism and food-Terrorism seems more sweet to the physical eye, than voilent Terrorism. But they should all be avoided.

The issue 'brainwash' comes to my mind.

All the above are just views.

Let us not jump too early to conclusions. Let us be open-hearted and not only open-minded.
