Dear Bill:
It is fruitless to be discouraged. be rather, encouraged.
We all do our best, and then when we find another who can assist, we
may rejoice we are not alone and the work of inspiring others to think
and to discover goes on all the time.
As to ourselves, if we are IMMORTALS, then any beginning in this life
is that much gained for the next. A tendency is set up which may
flower at an earlier time in the future -- all is Karma and as we live
we go through many tests and trials as the HIGHER SELF the great ATMA
inside tries to reach out through the embodied matter and work in this
world as a sower of seeds and ideas. Each is an IDEAL, and each has
the potential of awakening others. We all do necessary work no matter
where we are or how insignificant we rate ourselves.
Is an "atom" unimportant because it is relatively "small?" Is a
Galaxy important merely because it is "big?" We have to learn to
disregard ordinary and customary concepts of value and look for the
necessary and the true. We then are able to escape from labels and
particular set concepts. But the right and the value of anything we
do derives directly from our motive, and motive is improved always by
a growing WISDOM.
One thing difficult to escape from is our memories, and then we repent
and waste time saying to ourself " What if ...?" Well that is a
loss, as time is wasted. No one can roll back the past. But we will
all individually have to meet the results of all the past we have
acted in. So, lets be brave and forward looking. If we assume we are
immortals, then our present constraints are on the way out -- we will
have devised a better way to met our Karma and overcome it -- no
matter how painful or difficult.
As to time and energy -- we have hundreds of friends in the world, and
to all we can extend good cheer and help -- but trying to deal with
situations that we have learned from. -- that is our fund of wisdom
and it always grows. The man who does nothing is the real looser.
We have to adopt this attitude. We are not running any kind of a
competitive race. We are living together, though separate in space,
but the same work is something that can be done by the Great Law in
various places with willing and able companions. This is an example
of Brotherhood in action.
If as taught we reincarnate, and a time gap of 1000 to 1500 years on
the average separates incarnations, the religions of today will have
become antique by the time we return. I see no sense in working to
change them, but to those involved in them who may be seeking for a
rationale they no longer uphold or embody, we can extend a hand and
suggest they employ their innate independence of THOUGHT to sort out
the true from the false.
We all have to do that on our own and free ourselves from the incubus
of false beliefs that most of us are born and educated into.
It is better to find out what their basis is and then seek to dissect
the true teaching of the original reformer from the overlays of
priests .
All good wishes,
Dallas

Dear Dallas,
I am amazed at the wonderful depth of your education. I thought
there was
something special about you for some time. Now I know.
I thought I had something like that, but I did not get started until I
was
nearly 40 with
High School as my highest grade. Having also at that time the job of
raising with my wife 4 kids and trying to make a living. Time was
precious.
However, I did cover some ground. I set up a little budget of reading
50
pages every morning 7 days a week for the next 40 years from books I
chose
from the county library. I did cover a lot of territory that also
helped to
improve my ability as an Industrial Engineer. So much for that.
I have no trouble agreeing with your thoughts as an excellent
description of
the problems in the world of religion and science that need to be
cleaned
up.
My next note on the page is "Yes But".. I still think that new
system will
be developed ultimately, worldwide by the Creator's Evolution plan. I
would
however like
to think in my time on this planet I helped to move the Christian
Religions
along that
path.
