Based on Gandhi's logic, if Israel throws out or executes the entire
Islamic population of the West Bank, then, after a generation or two,
these Palestinians would forfeit the right to be there, too.
A basic rule of logic is that if the given is false, then everything
that follows is meaningless. Part of Gandhi's given is that the only
proof that the Jews occupied the area known as Palestine is the Bible.
But there is a tremendous amount of continuous proof, as well as the
evidence of the continual persecution and oppression of the Jews by the
Arabs far worse than any that the Arabs have received at the hands of
the Jews.
And let's remember WHY Israel currently occupies the West Bank. The
Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip had been waging an
undeclared war sponsored by the countries occupying the West Bank, in
violation of treaties signed by those countries, against Israel for
years. Jerusalem, which, by treaty, was supposed to be open to members
of all religions, was closed to Jews, and Jewish holy places were being
desecrated and destroyed. Then Jordan, Syria, and Egypt started massing
armies on the borders of Israel.
The Palestinians tried to take over Israel, and got taken over instead.
But, from their point of view, the war continues. Statehood is not their
goal. It is merely a step towards their goal: The destruction and
takeover of Israel.
Much criticism has been leveled against Israel for being too slow in
fulfilling all of the Oslo accords. Yet, the Palestinians have yet to
fulfill ANY of the promises they have made. In spite of several promises
to remove it, the destruction of the State of Israel is still listed as
the primary mission of the PLO in its charter.
The war that the Palestinians are waging against Israel is not a war of
liberation; it is a war of conquest.
