Jerry,
I think you are right in what you say. Such a link as a
fundamental idea has to be there. The words differ, perhaps, but
the concept is the same. Thanks
Is it not an attempt to describe the logical and philosophical
need for the three Logoi?
The Unmanifest LOGOS
The Manifesting LOGOS, and
The Manifested LOGOS ?
Nut these are not INDIVIDUALS, but concepts that involve vast
classes of individualized and perfected MONADS, who are ONE in
their vast UNITY. And the only thing that unites them is the ONE
SPIRIT. It's the only way in which Spirit can be seen to infuse
Matter with its Wisdom and Laws. It takes a free and independent
MIND to be able to perceive this. And where does Mind ( MAHAT)
come from? Is it not an emanation from the ABSOLUTE? What gives
it the power to stand midway between UNIVERSAL SPIRIT and
UNIVERSAL PRIMORDIAL MATTER ?
If "Spirit" needs a "mirror" so that it may see and know ITSELF,
then the MATTER used has itself to be of an ultimate purity that
is in fact SPIRIT also. Thus the two ONES are merged again. And
we are back to the commentary on the GAYATRI verse:
"Unveil, O Thou who givest sustenance to the Universe, from whom
all proceed, to whom all must return, that face of the True Sun
now hidden by a vase of golden light, that we may see the TRUTH,
and do our WHOLE DUTY, on the journey back to the SACRED SEAT."
But see Judge's A COMMENTARY ON THE GAYATRI -- [ PATH Jan.
1893 ] Reprinted in W Q J Articles, (UNITED LODGE OF
THEOSOPHISTS) Vol. I, p 583.

<<<<Dear Friends
The doctrine of the TWO ONES (S D I 130) seem t say to me that
the ABSOLUTENESS is ONE out of manifestation (to be simple about
it) and the Second ONE is the focal point of a manifested
UNIVERSE. It is the CENTRE that is everywhere, with
CIRCUMFERENCE nowhere.>>>
Dallas, Blavatsky's Doctrine of the Two Ones is exactly what I
used as the
basis for saying that there is (1) the Divine Monad outside the
whole
7-plane solar system, and (2) the Spirit Monad or atma-buddhi. It
is this
important doctrine that I am using to link Theosophy with
Mahayana Buddhism.
