Theos-World Is one opinion just as good or valid as any other opinion??

Sometimes as I read the emails on Theos-talk and theos-l, I get the
impression that some theosophical students believe that one "opinion" or
"view" or "belief" is just as good as any other.

Some have even suggested that all we have are our opinions which are very
subjective. And there's no way to determine the truthfulness of one opinion
versus another. All we have are our subjective opinions!

Here is one writer's "opinion" about the real founders of the T.S.

"Helena placed great trust in these Mahatmas claiming they had aided her
throughout her life. Four, Koot, Hoomi, Lal Singh, and Morya, she claimed
were the real founders of the Theosophical Society."

Article is signed A.G.H. See the online Encyclopedia titled Mystical:
http://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/m/mahatmas.html

Is A.G.H.'s opinion or statement on this subject just as good or just as
valid as somebody else's opinion or view on this subject?

I have informed this writer that his "opinion" or "statement" is inaccurate,
not true. And I've suggested that
a correct statement about this would read something like the following:

"She [HPB] claimed that two of the mahatmas (Koot Hoomi Lal Singh and Morya)
were the real founders of the Theosophical Society."

Is AGH's "opinion" just as valid as my "correction"? In other words, is
there a way or means by which we can determine the truthfulness, falsity,
correctness or inaccuracy of various opinions and statements?
