Dear Jerry:

On the matter of "continuous consciousness"

I base my opinion on the concept that SPIRIT is endless and
interminable.

If so and if our "Real consciousness," (not the personal
consciousness of this life and body), is a part of the Spirit,
then it "does not die" but continues on its own plane.

That is why I refer to the statements made by HPB in SD II 167
275 I 210 295fn which to me imply there are TWO EGOS in man: 1.
The Eternal EGO, and 2. The Personal and transitory Ego of this
lifetime.

How does this Ego in the personality of this life arise ? where
does it come from ? where does it go ? what is its purpose ?

When the physical form is disintegrated where do its components
go ? what is "Nitya-Pralaya" - the continual dissipation of
"atoms ?"

The "Four Truths" that the Buddha enunciated tome, lead to a
wider horizon of consideration.

That's what I am seeking to prove and demonstrate to myself all
the time.

Agreed. Yes, there is. The only way to eliminate this "perceiver"
is
to enter mahanirvana or to leave our 7-plane system altogether.
And, of course, the skandas and shistas or "karmic residue"
remain as seeds for the next incarnation. But our sense of
identity,
which Dal wants to keep continuous, breaks during death for
the vast majority of us (only Adepts can maintain this
continuity)
just as it does during our dreams.
