Dear Jerry S.

Have you ever looked over Bulwer-Lytton's ZANONI, and another of his books
A STRANGE STORY. Even in THE LAST DAYS OF POMPEI one finds traces of
these ideas as then prevalent among some who were either open or concealed
adepts.

Rider-Haggard and Talbot Mundy's books ought to be added to the list of
those who were in the period 100 to 50 years ago were able to introduce
(and perhaps keep alive) some idea of the "occult and secret powers" of the
mind and the will. But nothing in the way of experimental or practical
information is given out.

And to modernize, there is a whole spectrum of quasi occult quasi magical
books being written in the area of Science Fiction. And so on -- so there
is enough interest to fuel some New Age groups, not to mention those who
produce the ghoulier TV and movie programs around. Who ever got the idea
that children ought to be amused with the semi terrifying ideas and
pictures from "Kama-loca ?"
