Considering that the surveys are slanted towards Christians it is hardly surprising.

Subject: Theos-World People in Christian countries are happiest in the world

Recently I read article giving information about survey done of people
in different nations. Aim of the survey was to find out how happy
people are in different countries. Survey is done by
http://www.worldvaluessurvey.org/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_national_happiness
http://www.happyplanetindex.org/
http://www.worldvaluessurvey.org/

One interesting thing I noticed was most of the happiest countries in
the world are composed of Christians.
Japan, despite high income levels is among less happy countries.
Statistics proves my earlier guess that Christian religion has very
positive impact on the minds of people.
