Like any tool, Internet has its place. One has to find a balance.

There are many situations where person to person is the only thing that
works.

Even in Business situations where the issue is complex, combative, very
important, unpleasant or sad, only person to person works.

All one need to look at ML to APS. With all their communication and
transmigration powers available, even the Adepts travelled long distances to
take care of business. Travel 120 years ago was lot more difficult.

On the other hand, when a Fax or e-mail will do the job, writing a letter
and using paper mail is just a clever trick to gain time. That was what I
had when I dealt with TSA during Algeo's days. Electronic means speed up
communication, and sometimes it becomes inconvenient.
