HPB did not claim, she did not assert. She made phenomena
and dozens of persons who saw them gave their public
testimonies. Apart from phenomena, dozens of theosophists had
their own evidences that they were chelas and lay chelas of
various Mahatmas.

So say of that period (1875-1891) that "HPB claimed SHE was in
contact with the Masters" is a LIE from anyone who studies the
History of the Movement.

It is not a question of "believing". It is a question of
recognizing the fact the there are hundreds of evidences about
Masters in those years.

Let's just take one of Carlos' "assertions":

It is not a question of "believing".

Let's look at the word "believing" or "belief"

In the dictionary here are the definitions of "belief":

===========================================================
1. The mental act, condition, or habit of placing trust or
confidence in another: My belief in you is as strong as ever.

2. Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or
validity of something: His explanation of what happened defies
belief.

3. Something believed or accepted as true, especially a particular
tenet or a body of tenets accepted by a group of persons.

American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition.

Take definition two:

"Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or
validity of something."

When I write that "I believe" ....

I am in effect giving this definition....

Or take the statement Carlos wants to argue about:

"HPB claimed SHE was in contact with the Masters"

One could also write:

HPB stated she was in contact with the Masters.

or

HPB asserted she was in contact with the Masters.

However one wants to phrase it, I believe there is more
than ample evidence that her claim, her statement, her assertion
was true.

But I'm sure Carlos will probably want to quibble more.
