Dear Daniel,
Off hand, I have no opinion concerning the 1884 letter, and I regret
that I have no time to devote to investigating this question. Currently
my time has been taken up concerning the illness of a close friend,
which, I am sure you will understand, is a first priority. Brett Forray
has been investigating the Judge case for some years. I will ask his
opinion next time I speak to him and let you know his reply.
I agree with you that the documents in Ernest Pelletier's Judge Case are
selective and incomplete. And, as I previously said, his introduction
discloses that Ernie never intended to write a objective study of the
Judge case. Rather, his intention was to write a defense of Judge.
Needless to say, there is a world of difference between a defense and an
objective study. However, I still believe that Ernie's book is a
valuable resource of documents for those who wish to investigate the
case on their own and do not otherwise have access to these documents.
Further documents not in Ernie's book (representing both Besant's and
Judge's views) are in my personal archives and in the Alexandria West
archives. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who is serious in
doing research in this area.
Best Wishes
Jerry Hejka-Ekins

Jerry H.E. and Dallas T.,
I am curious to know if either one of you believe
that there was actually tampering with the 1884
Judge letter as Ernest Pelletier contends in his book

I can't see how the alleged tampering was accomplished
in LIGHT of the above reproductions that I have
provided.
Ernest Pelletier was apparently not interested enough
to write to me and throw any additional light on the
matter.
What do the two of you think?
Daniel
