One of the arguments that the so called circular "copula's" on the moon are
not meteor craters is that meteorites do not all hit perpendicular to the
surface and that most of them would form oval craters. However, Plasma electrical
bolts, such as lightning, always hit and carve their craters perpendicular to
the surface -- such as those on the Moon. Further speculation on this
presumes that at some distant past the planets of the solar system were much closer
to each other as well as their moons, and thus would discharge their plasma
tails toward each other depending on their relative polarities. Thus a larger
planet could cause plasma craters on a smaller planet or moon. Much food for
thought, eh?
