However, the TS President is also the OH of the ES, a profoundly
exclusivistic organization. It's so tiny that the sheep vs. goats
division it creates in the TS is generally invisible except to those
unfortunate enough to get on the wrong side of the ES.

I've been on the wrong side of the ES since my first book on Psionics came
out and scared them half to death. I didn't know it at the time, but the Harry
Smith scandal in the mid 60s involved radionics and what I did gave them the
absolute willies!

Unfortunately, a couple of the ES members who were noted more for their zeal
than for their intelligence, made the mistake of telling a friend of mine
(also in the ES at that time) that they feared I was doing something to her soul.
She told me about it and you know my sense of humor. I ran with it and had
so much fun with my soul-stealing machine (a cardboard box with a big dial and
a radiometer on top that looked as silly as it sounded) that they just sort of
slunk into a corner and looked very embarrassed whenever they ran into me.

And the occasional references to remote viewing and ES meetings made them
nervous as well. Olcott was fun in those days.

The Bahai's would be scarey if there were more of them and they weren't so,
well, image conscious. But as cults go I still think in the long run the smart
money is on the Scientologists. I think a duel between the Universal House
of Justice and the Sea Org would be worth the price of admission.
