Finding germs of truth in a variety of places, not just in recommended places

>I think I agree with your below thoughts.
I do hope, that you today
understand that you do not have to
live with Asperger Disorder the rest of your life?
It is possible for you to change the physical and psychological
parts of your body. I say this as a theos-talk friend.
That's what I meant when I said:
I might add that understanding what I have has made a difference in my
life. I am a totally different person since my "awakening" than before
specifically because I understand myself better.
In other words, because I understand what I have, I can take steps to do better. At 53, I'm not worried about improving in the "How to ask a girl for a date" department. I'm comfortable with the memory that all my major past relationships got started because the other person initiated the deeper friendship. I have friends, but I just don't worry about getting deeper. Maybe I don't need it (though I'm sure some people will say that I'm not complete until I find my soul-mate).

I also think it not alwyas is so important who is right or wrong.
There are many paths. But not all paths are to be recommended.
Here I partly disagree. You imply that some paths should not be recommended at all. My point is that even the path that you will not recommend might still reveal truth to someone else.

I'm reminded of a quote from a book that I'm currently rereading for the umteenth time:

*Subspace Explorers* by E. E. "Doc" Smith
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/asin/0425062457/ref=nosim/recommendations

From Chapter XII, "Higher Education" which describes the intellectual
search by the character Doctor Adams, the "big brain" with eight earned doctorates, and his wife (who will later in the book establish a university for psionic studies):

"First, they went through their own library's stores of philosophy, of metaphysics, of paraphysics, of occultism, of spiritualism, of voodooism, of scores of kinds of cultism and even more kinds of crackpotism, from Forteanism up--or down. They studied thousands of words to glean single phrases of truth. Or, more frequently, bits of something that could be developed into truth or into something having to do with truth."

I agree with this fictional character ... if he can study thousands of words in order to find just one fragment of truth, and if he can find it in crackpot sources, then what is to say that someone on this list might find bits of truth in a source that you believe is not to be recommended?

And likewise, someone else who reads a book that you highly recommend might not find as much truth as you find there.

So, my point still remains, you may consider CWL to be absolutely wrong in every respect, but I respectfully disagree. Some people may actually be able to find truths there, even if you are not capable of finding them. I much prefer to be able to search where I wish without someone else telling me that I'm on the wrong path. I've found more truths in Babylon Five than I have in Theosophical books that I have attempted to read. (With my Attention Deficit Disorder, theosophical books can be VERY hard to read, so I look for truths where I find them, rather than concentrating only on sources that people recommend.)

As far as studying "thousands of words in order to find just one fragment of truth," that appears to be true with my current reading. I'm 60% of the way through rereading the book, and only have five bookmarks flagged so that I can go back to them and compose a piece for my "Germs of Truth" blog. The information about Adams certainly gives me a good intro for that blog, as he is talking about finding small germs of truth inside thousands of words.
