Greetings Daniel, M.Suflight and All,
It all depends on the Bailey books you read.
I prefer the Treatise onCosmic Fire. There is nothing suggesting a bias to
any
religion in that work, and I regard it as a textbook of Metaphysics.
I would be interested to know if the critics of A.Bailey's work have ever
read
"The Treatise on Cosmic Fire", it is not an easy book to read.
It pays to be selective. Because she was a very devout Christian, it should
not
be surprising to find a bias in some of her works, just as HPB had a strong
preference for the Hindu traditions, and never had a good word for the
Catholic Church, and showed complete intolerance of Jesuits.
There is more advanced theosophical teaching by George King, but his
practical
work as a specialist in the Occult and Metaphysical Operations, was more
concerned
with Mother Earth and our survival into a New Age.
It can be seen that there have been three phases in the development of
Theosophy.
It might be of interest to theosophists generally, to consider why the
Theosophical
Organisation was not considered suitable for the New Age transmissions, and
for
Metaphysical Operations.
You checked their website (www.aetherius.org).
I would recommend some of the books,
"ContactWith The Gods From Space" for starters, only a small one of 153
pages .
But the essence is in "The Twelve Blessings" (63 pages ) for purely
spiritual,
but larger 200in "The Nine Freedoms" for philosophy, outlining Evolution
into Freedo
beyond anything which has ever been disclosed before. It has a devestating
effect
on religious philosophy, and offers a challenge to all theosophists.
So far, I have not heard of any Theosophists able to take the teaching
of The Aetherius Society, and seem quite content to argue the merits of HPB
and AB.
My website is "Metaphysics and The New Age"(www.users.bigond.com/phdaley)
You will find that the concerns of The Aetherius Society are somewhat
different, and
show a distinct preference for practical spiritual work.
Truth is there in agreement with Theosophy, but more of it.

Hallo Peter Daley and all,
My views are:
I have been pro-Bailey in Denmark.
The below show some of the reasons why I changed my views on the Bailey
teachings.
Try for instance to read the following - and if
you are interested let me or others know your views on it:
1.
"
a) The Bailey books are not a balanced multicultural presentation on
Theosophy.
b) The Bailey books leans heavily towards a Chrisitan outlook unto the
world. The consequences of this will show up in the present information
society.
c) The Middle East is hardly mentioned in the books, but the Christian
religion gets a whole lot of coverage.
d) The books were NOT intended for a Middle Eastern audience. Today
communication is rapid - due to the Internet. The audience is different
today.
e) Bailey groups are connected with work at The United Nations,
Headquarters.
f) Because of that they are politically involved, and that on an
international level.
h) This is today one of the problems the books of Bailey creates in TODAYS
international information society, where there are clearly visible
political
tensions between the Western politicians and The Middle Eastern ones."

An exceprt from that link is the following:
"Esoteric Psychology I; p. 167:
"...note chat this movement was started by a secret society which has
[167]
existed in the world since the last period of seventh ray dominance in
Atlantean times.
Every great religion which arises is under the influence of one or other
of
the rays, but it does not necessarily follow that each successive ray
should
have a great far-reaching religion as its outcome. We have heard that
Brahmanism is the last great religion which arose under first ray
influence;
we do not know what may have been the religion which was the outcome of
the
last second ray period; but the Chaldean, the Egyptian and the Zoroastrian
religions may be taken as representing the third, the fourth, and the
fifth
rays respectively. Christianity and probably Buddhism were the result of
sixth ray influence. Mohammedanism, which numbers so large a following, is
also under sixth ray influence, but it is not a great root religion, being
a
hybrid offshoot of Christianity with the tinge of Judaism."

And George King?
I find the Aetherius Society website to be very unclear about what they
are
actually teaching.
Maybe you would care to tell me or others about the enhancement, that
teaching
contains?

Our modern knowledge of Theosophy sprang
from two sources: The Mahatma Letters and
the writings of H.P. Blavatsky.
