Dear John:
Thanks for amendments - I used "reform" in a very broad way - to indicate
where a change originated. "Grew out of ...."
Best wishes,
Dallas

some would say that Islam is a reform of both Judaism and Christianity.
Mohammed, if I recall correctly, was hoping that both Christians and
Jews would make the change to Islam.
>Judaism (reform of Zoroastrianism, Chaldean Wisdom, Hinduism)
Here, I think "reform" is the wrong word. I don't think that "Moses" (in
quotes because I'm not sure if he's the true founder, or if he was
conveniently used) intended to "reform" the other point of view, but
wanted to create a new point of view for his people.
Reform implies that you want the adherents of the other point of view to
change, thus "reformation" when Martin Luther tried to reform the Roman
Catholic church, but instead founded protestantism.
But that's my opinion. I respect your right to disagree because as we
discuss our differences, we each grow closer to our individual goals,
whatever they may be.
