And yet we find Anand writing:
"H.P. Blavatsky made many mistakes. These mistakes
were made not just in writing on ordinary matters
but also in most important philosophic writings. . . .
sticking to HPB's vague and inaccurate writing will
be great hindrance in understanding Theosophy. . . .
it is NOT possible to recommend for reading EVEN A SINGLE
BOOK by her." caps added.
I'm reminded of my experience on Thanksgiving Day. Because Mom and I
were invited to David and Miriam's house after the Thanksgiving Day
service, I joined Mom going to the Christian Science Church (Mom is
their paid soloist ... not bad for 83 years young).
David was the "First Reader", reading selections from Mary Baker Eddy's
book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Because it was a special service, the entire reading was printed, word
for word, in the handout everyone received. I noticed that David made
two mistakes, saying a different word when a different word was printed.
In both cases, I got more out of the reading because of his mistakes.
I consider it very possible that mistakes could have been considered
preferable in such writings as are complained about above, specifically
because the mistakes make it more likely that the readers will gain the
message that they are supposed to get from the reading. Just my two
cents worth on the subject. I do know that I get more out of certain
works when I see mistakes, because the mistakes cause me to do extra
research. I remember finding a mistake in a spiritual document,
corresponding with the author, and helping her get the document
corrected. Later, she e-mailed me with correspondence from another
reader who had identified a mistake, and together, we three came up with
a proper response.
My opinion is free, and it's worth what you pay for it.
