vegetarian is not ascetic

Vegetarianism is not "more ascetic", it is more healthy. It is just a
matter of habit whether you can or cannot live or feel good without
eating meat. It is like with alcoholism or smoking. To be a vegetarian
is not necessary being more advanced in any way, but it is surely
being healthier and relieving one's mind from some extra burden of
chemical and psychical rubbish extracted from flesh of dead animals.

Being a vegetarian is not only killing less life, it is feeling
lighter in all senses. If one can't live without consuming meat, it is
a kind of disease like addiction to drugs (tobacco and alcohol
included).

BTW, Tibetans who live in India and have all sorts of food around them
in abundance don't need to feed on dead animals, but they still do it
despite their compassionate religion. Hence this is merely a bad
habit. :-)
