Posting the dissertation on-line is to be commended. This is going to allow
readers all over the world, especially in the third world countries to have
immediate and cost-effective access to the material. This is in contrast
with the traditional approach of trying to peddle hard copy versions, which
while may make some money for the authors, does limit the circulation.
Internet publication also cuts through all the editing/censoring that is
likely to take place due to the involvement of the publisher. Whether one
likes it or not, Internet is here to stay and one of these days may replace
print media since a hardcopy can be locally printed if need be.

PS: Couple of years ago, I had a very interesting experience of interacting
with a well known theosophist who always made a point of responding to me
by snailmail even though e-mail was accessible to this person and many a
time talked about Internet during fundraising context. One can only
sympathize with the mental block since the person is old and set in his
ways having grown up in pre-computer age. I will not be in the least
surprised if this person is lurking and reading the postings here!!!
