Semantics, concepts, correction, criticism.
Accept, understand, tolerate, consent..
So many words, one for each occasion.
Frankly, we all have different levels of understanding.

"Understand" and "respect" don't fit in with the rest of her sentence:

And, frankly, even "respect" does not make sense. At most,
understanding and tolerance. I can understand a belief system that does
not allow me to have my own; I can even tolerate it. But I'm not going
to respect it. And there were plenty of religious beliefs H. P.
Blavatsky did not respect, either.
