Hallo Pedro and all,

We have as far as i know had one expulsion from theos-talk.
So some limitations seems to be present.

My own view is:
If Theos-talk is not directly concerned with the original idea
about the theosophical teachings - as they were
presented to the public in the years 1875-1891 in what at that time
was called The Theosophical Society - then
I am afraid this place will have to be told the truth about the
seriousness of the matter.

So it is not so much, what Theos-talk are, but what it aught to be.

This is not a new discussion. We had a talk about it here a few years back.
And I think the most prelevant view was that politics was allright
to discuss, but that it had to be related to the Theosophical teachings !
After all this is Theos-talk and not the local political party late at night
after drinking a few Martinis. >:-)
(Anyone on this?)

Now, we all know - thanks to Blavatsky that the original intentions
with TS was that it was against corruption in society and in government -
although it did not meddle with politics. (Blavatsky's letter April 22-23,
1888 to the American Convention)
So being against corruption in government can in fact have far reaching
consequences to any TS group. It will logically also reach the
intergovernmental body we know as the United Nations as far as I am
concerned.

My experience with theosophically-related political debates at Theos-talk is
that they have had a tendency to reach a level where theosophy is not
considered important, but it is who is merely politically right or wrong in
the debate - which has value. It is maybe because the issue of "corruption"
has left the debate
and instead entered the debating parties. And because the missing moderator
didn't interfere. >:-)
