Thanks Theo. Your points are well made and support my position nicely. My
response was directed to Adelasie's comments: "A good index for a
theosophist to use when determining the rightness of an action is, "How
would I feel if someone did this to me?" An honest answer will often make
things very clear."
Adelasie's comments might be translated: "If everyone else were an honest
theosophist (like me?), then everyone else would also often know the right
thing to do."
Your contention that tyranny and oppression exist in the USA is a given.
That the USA is perfect has never been my position nor do I think Bart
subscribes to such silliness. If your point is that because we are flawed
and have the same disentigrating forces at work within our borders as are
present in every other country we are thus somehow disqualified from acting
in our best interest and the best interest of others less fortunate who need
our help, then I believe you are wrong. The story of the good Samaritan
could be looked to for guidance. We could ask what should the good
Samaritan have done if he had come upon the scene when the traveller was
being stripped and beaten by the robbers? What would we do? It is a
personal question that calls for an honest response. There is no "Right"
response, however, our cumulative individual responses shape the future of
our planet. No doubt Theo, you are fighting to expose and eliminate the
criminals that you see in a way that best suits you. So am I.
