Steven Levey on "HPB's direct lineage"

Steven Levey, a ULT student, wrote:

". . . Those in HPB's DIRECT LINEAGE, which leaves out many, if not
most writers in the Thesophical Society, who have recieved FURTHER
instruction from the Lodge of Mahatmas, have never given a collection
of the Mahatma letters to be printed. . . . " CAPS ADDED.

One correspondent has emailed me asking what Steven Levey is actually
referring to when he writes about HPB's DIRECT LINEAGE. What exactly
does he mean by DIRECT LINEAGE? What persons constitute this LINEAGE?

And what does he mean by FURTHER instruction from the Masters?

I must admit that I am not clear myself what he is writing about.
Since he is in the ULT, I might speculate that he is referring to the
ULT'S DIRECT LINEAGE.

Can anyone (maybe even Steven Levey) clear up these questions?
