What is "social uplift"? Real question.

You got a workable solution? There's a Nobel Peace Prize in it for you
if you have. And that's not necessarily sarcastic. In business, there is
something called "The Groucho Syndrome." That's when somebody has a
good, original idea, but does not go forward with it because they
decide, "If I thought of the idea, then somebody else must have thought
of it first." It's based on a Groucho Marx line, "I wouldn't belong to
any club that would have me as a member." The point is that ANYBODY can
come up with a good and original idea; the trick is to follow through on

What is "social uplift"?
