First thing is to throw out the philosophy of the Frankfurt School,
notably Fromm, Reich, and Marcuse.
Second, realize that there is more than one way to reach a goal, and
just because one does not agree with a method does not mean that one
does not agree with the goal.
Third is to recognize that one definition of insanity is to do the same
thing over and over again, always getting the same results, in the hope
that the next time the results will differ.
Fourth (related to the 1st) is that any philosophy that is based on
falsehood is invalid.
The fifth is that you can't force evolution on people; all you can do is
make an atmosphere where it is easier for people to evolve.
Sixth is to follow Blavatsky's dictates that the Theosophical Society
should not get involved in politics except to increase the level of
understanding between opposing sides of an issue (that's the Society,
NOT individual Theosophists, who are expected to be involved to the
extent that it increases the general welfare of humanity as a whole).
Seventh is to realize that forcing things into groups of seven is just
an expression of maya.
