Well, I thought it was very unseemly of him to mention Colin Powell 
by name (attacking the man and not the principle.) Powell did not 
deserve that and it is notable that his response was much more 
dignified that Belafonte's original statement. But Belafonte's money 
is not the issue. The issue is (1) does he have a point, and (2) is 
he articulating the opinion of a sizable number of others in his 
community? If the answer to either of those is yes, then we should 
listen to him.
