Understandable, Larry. It seems so on the first look. And one should bear in
mind that the TS as such must not deal with changing and disputable
politics. OTOH, both HPB and KT did make many statements, if not warnings,
which could be puzzling in their times but today after some developments in
the outer world the picture perhaps become more clear.

>From the German point of view there is some near to theosophy as the
theosophists were persecuted in the Third Reich. So for anyone who tries to
find out the motives and the background why all this happened there is an
interest. The more as some foes of theosophy ran a campaign to denounce the
theosophists as racists, Nazis etc. or even make Hitler a true believer in
theosophical doctrines. To my knowledge most if not all of this is
(political?) propaganda and they try to force Theosophy into a politican
battle as they have no hard facts and the few facts they present are only
gossip when researched. Even if a Theosophist will not enter such a low
level of cant and hypocritical battle it seems to me a gain when one is
informed what is going around and what the foes have to say. We can well
remember what the results the Coulomb case have had (and still has in the
lexicons) and the racist and anti-semitism slanders could lead to similiar
results if there is noone from our side you makes himself an expert on that
topic. There could be come a time in the near future were high intellectual
experts are needed who are abel to counteract these slanders, as Purucker
predicted in his "Studies", p.159.

To me Theosophy (despite the weak and incompetent organizations) is the only
system which gives humankind a rationale why all is connected with all and
the "Clash of Civilizations" is not a must as all religions are coming from
one source and if cleaned from their human distortions they will all find
similarities and common sense, a co-operation and a dialog of the
Civilizations is possible if all leaders would agree.
We need no wars to learn our lessons.

BTW, it's the same LaRouche demands and I cannot see why he is a "high
apostle of the lunatic fringe" when one believes in spiritual things. It
seems that the ctritic on LaRouche you quote comes from materialistic
Marxist sources who want the people educate down to consuming materialistic
beast life. So LaRouche seems to be very dangerous for the East Coast, the
more as it seems that he has good connections to intelligence and other
sources as he was to my knowledge the first and only one who warned in July
and August that a big thing will happen the next weeks and who wrote about
the Enron case before others did. Seems that someone who has knowledge is
dangerous.
