Yes, that's the guy. Thanks for catching my historical mistake and
correcting it. Heydrich was the head of the SD until the formation of the
RSHA and then was promoted to head that entire organization. He chaired
the Wanesee Conference and was assassinated following the Lidice
Massacre. I believe Kaltenbrunner took his place.
Also, SD stands for Security

That's correct. It had two departments within the RSHA, one foreign and
one internal. The CIA has other functions besides intellegence gathering
also but be bascially think of it in intelligence terms I was giving a
functional term rather than a direct transliteration of
Sicherheitsdienst (SD)

Here I would have to disagree. true, German was a republic in the Weimar
Era and Hitler came to power by manipulating that government, but just as
Rome was transformed into an empire from its republic as was France under
Napolean, so was Germany under Hitler. In a republic, the states retain a
portion of sovereignty. The Lander had such, but Hitler dissolved them
and made them mear administrative departments of the central Reich, just
as Napolean did to the old French provences. He also outlawed political
parties other than the National Socialists. He also had all Germans swear
allegiance to him personally as Fuhrer. I believe that by this time the
republic was dead.

Yes, but what of Ruby Ridge and Waco? Actually. I was not saying they are
similar in actual operations, just that the basic purpose was similar.
