Don't be surprised at all. The human nature is the same whether the person
is interested in theosophy or totally ignorant of theosophy or even a
scholar in theosophy and may have held important positions in theosophical
organizations.
In my experience, I have seen people who have been around theosophy for a
long time who from time to time behave in a manner which will shock a newbee.
Nothing is wrong with theosophy. It the fault of the individual.
