It is my understanding that in the US, when one submits a thesis to any University for a doctoral degree, it is made available for sale in microfiche/microfilm for a small cost. Usually University Microfilm used to handle this.

What is the practice in the Australia, where I suppose Brendan French submitted his thesis.
