Steve:

I don't know what the PPS extension is all about. The Norton Internet
Security program is on all the time, monitoring everything that comes
in, and that goes out. When something that is a virus comes in over
the modem, it immediately flashes a special screen, and freezes
everything till I tell the program what to do. I just tell it to
delete the incoming message.

I am usually on the Inet for less than 1/2 hour each day, and when I
get on, the program contacts Norton, and gets all the virus signatures
& data that is new since I was on the last time, and it installs that
in the program, so I am always up to date.

For this latest one, I don't know how they got my name. I am not sure
whether it came in from the addresses from one of the lists that I am
on, or if it is just random.

I thought it best to send the details to the individuals, and to the
lists that I am on. Many on the lists are computer aware, but some of
them are new, and some of my friends are pretty hazy on the workings
of these things.
