Although I'm not into promoting astral projection,
I should mention that one of the early participants
in discussions on theosophical mailing lists,
Donald J. Degracia, wrote a 145 page book on astral
projection that he made available on the Internet.
Currently, I have a copy of his book (in PDF format) at:

Note, though, that there's quite a lot of points
to be discussed pro/con this subject.
