Dear Doss:

It was then explained, I believe, in the early pages of THE
THEOSOPHIST that at a certain stage a chela need not know the
actual language of a piece of literature to secure from it the
meaning very accurately. This is from memory as I cannot lay my
hand on the exact reference. I recall one of the revered
Mahatmas saying in a letter that he was able to draw around him
the needed references from all sources as needed to answer a
point, or to make a doctrine or an event in history clear.

Subject: Theos-World "OF STUDYING THEOSOPHY"

It was well known during early days of TS, in India there were
some chelas
of the Adepts who were not literate in English Language so they
cannot read
any of the published writings about Theosophical Doctrines. In
the
circumstances, I wonder how these chelas were taught about the
minutae of
anthropogenesis and cosmogenesis?
