BAMIAN statues:

The only reference that I was able to trace was the one in S.D.
II 224 and 336-40. A Friend just traced for me another general
reference in H.P.B.'S FROM THE CAVES AND JUNGLES OF HINDOSTAN
p. 609 fn ( TPH, 1975 - enlarged Edition)

A successful visit made to see them was by our friend Mr. Peter
Bernin of the Malmo U.L.T. .In part he writes - I give some
extracts here:

I personally have been in Kabul and made from there the long
journey going to the small village of Bamian in the great Bamian
Valley in 1978...I did that just because Helena Blavatsky had
mentioned them in the Secret Doctrine and I wanted to see them
with my own eyes - and they were really fantastic.

Dallas has made a good resume in his last BN-posting on the
colossal statues mentioned in the Secret Doctrine II-337- 40. So
no need to go into that. I only like to point out that the Bamian
caves are in the same size as the Ellora and Ajanta caves in
[central] India and built by the "builders" or INITIATES, also
mentioned by Helena P. Blavatsky (SD II: 221, 345 fn), although
the Buddhist art style is different and not so well preserved.

In "THE CAVES AND JUNGLES OF HINDOSTAN" of Helena P. Blavatsky
pp, 609-610], there is also mentioned Bamian (part of
Paropamisos) [beyond the Pamirs] and that these mountains were
inhabited by "earthly gods." Further, it was called Parnassus by
the Brahmanas. Rama and Krishna are mentioned to have been
living on the Parnassus, and that the word Parnassus occurs
frequently in both RAMAYANA and MAHABHARATA. There also seems to
be some mysterious connection with the holy Mount of SU-MERU. So
I feel that there is much to learn from all this, and it would be
worthwhile to investigate more.

What I already discovered with the Bamian statues when I was
there, was that there were not five large statues visible or
known, but only three. The two largest statues ( 53 & 35 meters
high), most mentioned by travelers and writers on the subject,
were situated in the same rock formation, and within walking
distance between each other. By the largest statue it was even
possible to climb right up beside the head, by climbing through
the labyrinths of caves, chapels and big halls, on several
levels, accessible through steps carved inside the mountain, were
the statue had been placed in a niche on the outside.

There were hundreds of caves within the whole area. Up there
beside the head (which at that time was already damaged) on the
sidewalls, were left some paintings of gods, bodhisattvas and
Buddhas, and even a Greek philosopher, or perhaps a king was
placed sitting beside these Buddhas in the same line.

The "thousand Buddhas" sitting in a line is very typical of
Buddhist paintings, but not together with a Greek in toga and
with a beard! That must have been some old remains from the
gandhara style (Greek-Buddhistic art from Bactria or
Roman-Buddhistic art from Syria) or of the Buddhistic mahayana
art. The third statue I saw was visible in another valley quite
some distance from the two bigger ones. I never found the two
smaller ones during those days I spent there looking for them in
the Autumn before the snow came.

We will within the near future put out on our Swedish ULT website

statues on my travels in Afghanistan. I think that will be our
response against taking them out physically...we will reinstate
them visually for all friends of the SECRET DOCTRINE in the
world. You will be able to see them easily by just clicking on
our website. In this way we will help broadcast the knowledge
and purpose of those giant statues of esoteric philosophy. And
the occult purpose will be known to the whole community of our
global village ...

I find no special reference to their original appearance, which a
million years ago must have been marvelous. If you can review
the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Magazine issue (I do not know the exact
date, but it was about a year or so ago) pictures, and then those
which Peter will put them on MALMO U.L.T. WEB SITE

You will recall that The SECRET DOCTRINE says that the 1st, 2nd
and up to the middle of the 3rd (Lemurian - S.D. II 7-8, 606fn,
788-9, 263]. The end of Lemuria occurred under Karma [ S.D. II
324-8, 606fn, 351]

OUR BODIES in EARLIER RACES and ROUNDS

The material of our bodies in that Race was ASTRAL as were all
the forms, including the great Dinosaurs. The consolidation was
gradual. [S.D. II 257, 251, 728, 736-8,] So the size of man's
body corresponded to those gigantic reptilian forms. Even some
of the fossils that are found came over form a previous Round
[S.D. II 370, 684, 256-7, 712].. If there were physiological or
astral differences in terms of organs, etc, I do not find that
H.P.B. went into that.

ATLANTIS

This was a continent described [.D. II 8, 322-3, 326, 333-4] and
elsewhere. It was destroyed under Karma by deluges of water
[S.D. II 222-3, 313-6, 762, 786]

An Island named Poseidonis was the last Atlantean land to be
submerged - about 9,600 BC [S.D. II 124, 765] Mr. Judge writes
about this in his articles (story) WHERE THE RISHIS WERE
"Letters That Have Helped Me," p 244. The air-machines
mentioned there are referred to in Ancient Hindu texts as
"vimana." [S.D. II 426]

Thank you Dallas for your contribution and the story of your
personal
efforts to reach the statues.

It is an amazing thought that these statues had stood for a
million years
and that the details of their appearance had been changed
relatively
recently by devoted Buddhists. Does HPB mention what their
original
appearance might have been. Are we to assume that the first,
second and
subsequent races were like the fifth (us) with the same physical
frame,
only larger? If so those brontosauri were relatively small.

I also noticed in the quote from HPB that she talks of the
submerging of
the Atlantis continent which is different from the submersion of
the
Atlantis island, are we then to take that Atlantis was originally
a
continent, then broken up and reduced to an island before going
totally
under. What time frame does she give for the breaking up of the
continent
and final submersion of the island.

BTY your suggestion, that the masters were anticipating some such
event in
2001 was insightful.
