To MK Ramadoss:
Although I hold the copyright to my book, there are a couple of hurdles in
publishing it online right now. The first is legal, in that I signed a
contract giving the publisher rights of distribution, both here and
internationally. This means Quest Books would have to agree to do this.
The second hurdle is "logistical." Believe it or not, I do not have a
diskette of the published version of the book. The reason for this is that
my editor lived in Oregon, & we exchanged various portions of the ms by
e-mail. She used a different wordprocessing program from the one I use, &
she had the "final" version at all times, since she would key in any changes
or edits I suggested. Then, that version was read by several readers, who
were responsible for the final edits. This took it further from whatever I
had on disk. Finally, it went to the typesetter, who used yet another
program, which is profoundly incompatible with anything I have. The experts
at Kinko's were adamant that it was nearly impossible to translate from that
program to any of the more popular wordprocessing programs.
Still, perhaps it might be possible to put some excerpts online. I will
check with the publisher, & let you know what the response was.
Thanks again for your interest.
