1 Separateness is an illusion in this physical plane.  we sepaarate
ourselves not only from ani;mals & Nature but also fro;m each other.
In truth, there is no inferior and superior, but only  the limitation of
our consciousness.
Animals in their limitation, see the world much differentially than we
do. Realizing this 
humans  should treat them with kindness and Love. The Source is in ALL.  
ALL IS ONE.
2  At this stage of our growth, there is a constant struggle between our
Higher and Lower natures. The Spiritual in us does not always prevaila.
If our material nature is stronger, the Spirit withdraws.
Continuing this downwaard trend, we will lose our Spiritual Souls
