For a primer try THE KEY TO THEOSOPHY by HPB, or
THE OCEAN OF THEOSOPHY by Judge.

A still briefer and more packed with information in the space of 35
pages is Mr. Judge's
EPITOME OF THEOSOPHY. I have used this many times and carry it always
with me as something I can read with profit while waiting for persons
and events.

Thank you Dallas for your reply. I'm not sure physicists would agree
that
the atom escapes the Second Law of Thermodynamics(it is a law, not a
theory).
I am a newcomer to theosophy and am looking forward to the answers to
the
questions you say it solves. What little bit of reading I've done so
far is
frustrating since the authors seem to be starting in the middle and
then do
theos-speak which sounds like arcane chatter to a neophyte.
I 'm still looking for a primer that begins from zero and carefully
develops
answers based upon verifiable evidence or compelling logic. If you
know of
such a work I would sure appreciate the reference.
