Apparently Rich its quite possible to doubt the existence of the Masters
and be a "true theosophist." As you basically state we have the "living
presence" in America of advance Tibetan teachers... who are teaching much
the same teaching and I think one could argue a more direct tradition of
authority than we had previously received... We also have in this country
very fine representatives of Jaina Dharma and Sanatana Dharma... that we
can personally consult. To me the true study of the ancient wisdom
teachings means applying to the best sources available... a hundred years
ago this could be found in the basic theosophic texts... today it is all
around us in the fine unbroken traditions now available in Buddhism,
Hinduism and Jainism and others.- Art
