Theos-World Responses to Peter on Karma

>>Well you can't expect too much from us 'simple folk', I'm afraid. >>

I was referring to the viewpoint that your posting expressed, Peter, not
to you. How do I know if you are simplisitic? I have never even met you.
Please don't take any of this stuff personally. I don't.

>> What I was hoping to do was show that the Law of Karma is an
Impersonal Law and not "personal" as you suggested, and that like the
law of gravity it doesn't depend on personal beliefs for it to exist and
operate.>>

I guess that we will simply have to agree to disagree here.
I see karma as both personal and collective, and I very much
believe that our personal beliefs are an effect of our personal
karma and a cause of our future personal karma. The
idea that beliefs and opinions are not karmic sounds like a
simplistic idea to me and one that I can't accept.

[A quote by Peter from HPB]
>>"... we consider it as the Ultimate Law of the Universe, the source,
origin and fount of all other laws which exist throughout Nature. Karma
is the unerring law which adjusts effect to cause, on the physical,
mental and spiritual planes of being. As no cause remains without its
due effect from greatest to least, from a cosmic disturbance down to the
movement of your hand, and as like produces like, Karma is that unseen
and unknown law which
adjusts wisely, intelligently and equitably each effect to its cause,
tracing the latter back to its producer. Though itself unknowable, its
action is perceivable." (Key to Theosophy: Section 11)>>

Please note her use of physical, mental, and spiritual planes.
It works on all planes, just as I have been saying. Again,
her use of "the Universe" means our 7-plane solar system of
manifested and mayavic worlds. If you take the above quote
literally, karma seems to be a very simple and straightforward
doctrine of cause and effect over time. However, life is not
linear and karma is very complex.
