Trivia question

Dear learned list folks,
As part of my Ph.D. dissertation research, comparing HPB to Buddhism, I
occasionally come across puzzles that I hope someone on the list will be able
to solve offhand, saving me *hours* of research.
Here's the current puzzle. There is an old, established saying in Tibetan, to
the effect: "Every valley a different language, every lama a different
system." I believe that somewhere HPB uses this saying, and if I can find it,
this would help me substantiate her claim of being in Tibet. I know some
people really couldn't care about "justifying" HPB to the world, but alas,
that is the position I find myself in as a young scholar.
Thanks for the help.
Rich
