It certainly is. I become concerned when I see students of theosophy
making strong statements on many of the subjects we study and karma is
one of the most common one we seem to tend to "dogmatism".

I believe this may partly be the fault of not studying the "Wisdom
Tradition" from a broader perspective. Many of today's students simply
study the Post-Blavatsky teachings which is what comprises modern
theosophy, or opinions on what modern theosophy is. One needs to
recognise that that most of the writers of modern theosophy are also
simply students putting forth ideas on how they currently understand
something. It is sometimes a pity that some disclaimer is not inserted
in the introduction which explains this.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is that we as students need to ensure
study more widely some of the ancient teachings that are available. We
are then able to build up a fuller picture, getting at least a better
grasp of reality.

In the Secret Doctrine which was penned by HPB we see countless good
examples of where the authors referred to many ancient texts and
philosophies to back up their claims.

Cheers
John
