I think the one I was talking about is Letters To A Dying Friend,
and I seem to recall at least one other. Both are available from
Quest. G de Purucker's Occult Tradition in two volumes has
a lengthy and detailed section about death and dying, and I
found it to be very compatable with The Tibetan Book of the
Dead. Probably the biggest difference has to do with time
between lives.
