If you are basically grounded in HPB and Judge, then I think you will be in for
quite a shock once you start looking into the later developments. I think CWL's
Masters and the Path will give you a good idea of the ES tradition. I remember in
the early 1970s we had a study group where we were comparing Blavatsky and
Purucker, and had been meeting for several years. On of the members wanted to
know why I thought CWL was so different from HPB. I pulled down Masters and the
Path and began reading CWL's description of an initiation he supposedly
witnessed. I read it with a straight face and demeanor, but everyone was rolling
on the floor in hysterics before I got through the second page.
